See illustrated bug puns tonight, one night only

“Buzz Worthy” is a new exhibit of paintings, drawings and prints created by PCA&D illustration students.  

 

These bug-inspired artworks will be the first show ever in Pennsylvania College of Art & Design’s newly-formed Chestnut Street Space and will be on display tonight only during Lancaster's First Friday, February 3, from 5 – 9 p.m.

An example of the illustrated bug puns is shown above.  "Japanese Beetle" was created by Monique Connett '13.  A complete list of student works is below.

“Buzz Worthy” was created to promote the “Wicked Bugs” and “Bugs…Outside the Box” exhibits which are on display at North Museum of Natural History & Science, Lancaster, from February 3 - May 13, 2012. 

The work, after being displayed at PCA&D on the evening of February 3, will be displayed at the North Museum in late spring/early summer 2012 (dates yet to be determined).

Full color banners hanging outside the North Museum to promote the Museum’s exhibits were also designed by PCA&D illustration students.  They will be on display February 3 through May 13, 2012.


The First Friday opening of "Buzz Worthy" will be held in conjunction with an artist reception and gallery opening of "Marc Burckhardt: Fables, Musicians and Natural Wonders," in the PCA&D Main Gallery from 5 - 9 p.m. 

The Main Gallery is at 204 N. Prince Street.

The Chestnut Street Space is located in the ground level of the college's buildings.  The space is lined with windows and brightly lit, making it a perfect space for many uses.  On February 3, the public will enter the new space at the intersection of Chestnut and Water Streets.
