Start your First Friday a bit earlier by joining PCA&D for a panel discussion with artists behind the exhibit "Photo/Synthesis."
Beginning at 4 p.m., PCA&D faculty member Josh Brilliant (adjunct instructor in PCA&D's Photography department) will moderate "Convergence and Collaboration," featuring artists Anita Allyn, Piper Brett, Julianna Foster, Tim Portlock, Mark Stockton and Linda Yun.
Work by Roxana Perez-Mendez is pictured above.
The artists, members of the Philadelphia-based artists collective Vox Populi, will talk about their individual studio practices, specifically noting the role photography plays in their art, and will reflect on their experience working as part of an artist collective.
After the panel discussion, stick around for the artists reception in the main gallery from 5 - 9 p.m.
Both events are free and open to the public.
In "Photo/Synthesis," photography is source, subject and medium in this exhibition. Works on display include site-specific installation, photo-realistic drawings, hologram performance sculpture, computer generated images, and large scale photographs.
Artists represented in the exhibit include Anita Allyn, Piper Brett, Julianna Foster, Roxana Perez-Mendez, Tim Portlock, Mark Stockton, and Linda Yun.
"Photo/Synthesis" continues through March 1. Gallery hours are posted on our Main Gallery page.
